Online Debate Competition

Brainwiz, in partnership with UNESCO New Delhi Office, is organizing an Online Debate centered around the impacts ongoing Coronavirus lockdown on the student community.

The debate is being organized for three primary purposes:

1. To understand students' perspectives on the ongoing coronavirus lockdown and how it affects them
2. To allow students to participate in extracurricular activities that they are missing out on because of this ongoing global lockdown
3. To enhance the spheres of learning to beyond school boundaries and creating learners for the 21st-century

The competition is split into two parts

	Preliminary Article Submission	Online Debate Competition
What is it?	Before the Online Debate Competition, interested students have to submit a preliminary article with their application	16 students (8 for the motion and 8 against the motion will be selected to participate in the Online Debate Competition
When?	Last date for submission of application is 13-04-2020, 11:00 AM IST	The Online Debate Competition will be held on 15-04-2020, at 11:00 AM IST.
Topic	The one thing that I have taught myself during this ongoing lockdown is …	This house believes that the ongoing lockdown due to coronavirus has benefited the student community
Guidelines	Word Limit: 150 words	Speaking Time: 3-5 minutes
Language	English	English
Judgment Criteria	1. Originality of Thought 2. Creativity 3. Overall Presentation	1. Originality of thought; 2. Structure of argument; 3. Overall delivery/ presentation;

Guidelines

Revised: Entries will be accepted from 7th April 2020 to 13th April, 2020 11:00 AM IST. All entries received outside the competition period shall automatically be disqualified.
The contest is open to all students in classes VI-XII
Employees of Brainwiz and their family members and the employees of all the partner agencies directly associated with Brainwiz cannot participate in the competition
The organiser reserves the right to reject any entry at its sole and absolute discretion without having to assign any reasons whatsoever
All winners will be announced on Brainwiz’s social media pages. Emails will be sent on the IDs the participants provide while entering the competition. Brainwiz does not take any responsibility in case a participant provides a wrong email ID
The articles submitted as a part of this activity become the property of Brainwiz's. Brainwiz can publish them anywhere, with due credits to the author
The Online Debate on 15th April, at 11:00 AM IST will be recorded and the organiser reserves the right to publish the recording in full or parts for online and offline promotions
When joining the competition, participants agree to behave appropriately and responsibly, giving due respect and without being abusive to other users or posting offensive images
The organiser reserves the right to request written proof of age of any Competition Winner before the prize/certificate is dispatched or collected. The organiser reserves the right to forfeit prizes/certificates for any Contest Winner who does not provide the required details upon receiving the request/notification from the organiser
The organiser reserves the right to appoint a third party to conduct the verification of Competition Winners and to fulfil the delivery of prizes/certificates. Participants agree that the organiser may provide all necessary information of Winners to such third party to facilitate such service
The articles submitted as a part of this activity become the property of Brainwiz's. Brainwiz can publish them anywhere, with due credits to the author
The organiser reserves the right to amend the competition period at any time without prior notice
All of the content of the competition is owned by Brainwiz
Use or access to the competition is deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions
The decision of the organiser is final and binding
